  • Tools Were very important
  • Tools were very helpful

  • Used for many things
  • Used to cut timber
  • Used to make parts of tombs
  • Used by many carpenters
  • Still a tool used today

  • Used to print hieroglyphics into walls and the
    top of coffins
  • Used to shape rocks and metals
  • Would also start holes to drill into
  • Used for intricate carving

  • Used to smooth furniture and coffins
  • Smoothed surfaces after carving
  • Also used to polish coffins and furniture
  • Usually oval shaped

  • Used to catch large game and fish
  • Symbolically a harpoon was held by kings to show
    the spearing of the hippo by the god Seth
  • Would take a series of harpoons to kill a large
    fish

The Battle Axe
  • The axe was used as a weapon all over the Middle
    East
  • The silver handled axe has a long blade used for
    a slicing motion
  • The openwork axe is ceremonial, but could have
    made an effective weapon
