  • The Ancient Egyptians were able to flourish in an
    area that many thought was uninhabitable.
    Despite these conditions, Egyptians came to
    dominate northern Africa in a variety of ways.
    Your job is to study the Egyptian way of life and
    decide what single thing allowed Egyptians to be
    so successful.

  • Now that you have studied the Ancient Egyptian
    way of life write a persuasive essay arguing
    which one area of life allowed Egyptians to be so
    successful in northern Africa. Ideas might
    include the Egyptian understanding of the human
    body, their massive work force or even the
    location of the Nile River. Be sure to
    reference information from the chart completed
    earlier and other information discussed in class.

  • A theme that will carry over into all areas of
    study this year will be cultural diffusion. Now
    that you have taken a stance on the
    sophistication of the Ancient Egyptians, draw a
    political cartoon that demonstrates your
    understanding of cultural diffusion in northern
    Africa. Be sure to include AT LEAST three
    symbols in your drawing.
