  • Also called the Medieval Period
  • time between the fall of the Roman Empire and the
    beginning of the modern era
  • The collapse of the Roman Empire made people feel
    nervous and fearful. Why?
  • No strong central government
  • No army to protect them
  • No common culture or belief system to unite them

  • Charlemagne- controlled most of France and
    Germany
  • Strong Military Leader
  • Used the church to strengthen his empire
  • Uniting the culture
  • Ruled for 14 years
  • After Charlemagnes death-
  • Empire is divided into small kingdoms
  • Europe turned to feudalism- a system that created
    a new social structure

    appropriate for the presentation of the content.
  • The Feudal Society Display should be created on
    the notebook page directly following your Guided
    Notes on The Middle Ages.

    population size of each group.

    CREATIVE
