Where it came from
  • The Black Death was one of the most devastating
    pandemics in human history, peaking in Europe
    between 1348 and 1350, and killing between 75
    million and 200 million people

How it spread
  • Traders unknowingly brought rats with the
    disease. And fleas that fed on the infected rats
    passed on the plague to people.

  • The disease was called the bubonic plague. This
    is where the nursery rhyme ring around the rosy
    comes from. The symptoms are swelling, blackness,
    pain, and death

  • The old manor system already weakened the growth
    of cities, collapsed. Plague survivors found
    their skills in demand and charged more for their
    labor.
