- clergy- that were church officials shaped
politics and society. - Society- everything took place at the church
- Politics-politics were shaped a lot by the
church.

5The monks of Cluny
- The monks of Cluny established a new religious
order. - Religious order-religion with common rules.
- Living apart from society-most monks lived apart
from society, but some orders lived and taught
among the people. - Francis of Assisi-created friars.

- Friars were created by Francis of Assisi.
- Friars lived with people

- In there society everything took place in the
church or with the church. - Everyone belonged with the same church.
- There was only one church so everyone went to the
same one.

- Magna carta was one of the first documents to
protect the rights of the people. - Magna carta was so influenceual that the British
still consider it part of there constitution.

- Magna carta required the kings to obey certain
rights. - Among these rights were abean corps.
- A right to a fair trail.

- These are important because it made everything
fair for everyone.

- Magna carta inspired the English to find more
ways to limit the kings power. - A council of nobles were created to advise the
kings. -

- In time the council developed into parliament,
the law that governs England today. - By the late middle ages, kings could do little
without parliaments support.

- The nobles limited the kings power so the could
only do so much because of Magna carta.

- In 1328 a French king died with no sons, and two
men claimed his throne. One was French and the
other was the king of England. England was wining
this war but In the end the french man became the
king. - Joan of arc a teenage pheasant railed the french
troops. Even thought the English captured and
killed Joan it was to late.

- England-in England parliaments power grew because
the king needed parliaments approval. - France the kings power grew. In the war the king
had become popular with his nobles.

the french does not have magna carta so all the
power belonged to the king.

- The black death came from central and eastern
Asia. - It spread because traders brought rats the
carried the disease unknowingly. - The disease was called the bubonic plague.

- The black death caused many people to die.
- People died so quickly the started burying people
with out preachers. - Many people died by getting spread in the air.
27What happened to the dieseas?
- The disease eventually died down and the serfs
and pheasants that survived found there services
in high demand.
