• Identify the key users? Where is the principle
  focus - Board EIS or Operational Management?
• Cascading? How far down across the
  organisation?
• Put the infrastructure in place to support it
• data retrieval collation, analysis, report
  production,
• queries requests for further drill down.
• Be realistic on data availability data
  integrity. Use proxy measures where necessary.
  Get serious on improving measures and data over
  time.
• Confirm how information is to be transmitted.
  Periodic meetings or on-going real time screen
  based information? Both??
• Confirm drill down requirements to support
  further analysis.
• Be careful of rushing into an off-the-shelf
  software product until you have practical
  experience and are certain of a requirements
  specification
• Above all, replace rather than replicate existing
  performance reporting after an initial trial
  period.
