REHVA Mission

• REHVA with its network of 27 National
  Association Members is the leading organization
  in Europe dedicated to the improvement of health,
  comfort and Energy efficiency in all buildings
  and communities.
• REHVA encourages the development and application
  of both energy conservation and renewable energy
  sources.
• In these areas, REHVA has a significant impact
  on National and International strategic planning
  and research initiatives as well as on associated
  educational and training programmes.

REHVA Mission

• REHVA provides networking and cooperation
  opportunities for the member associations and
  companies (REHVA supporters).
• We share these goals with European and other
  international organizations which have activities
  in the building sector.
• We achieve these missions by sharing
  information, by promoting the best practice of
  our engineers and the last innovations of our
  labs and industry through the REVHA committees,
  technical tasks, seminars and publications.

REHVA Policy

• A REHVA Declaration on Sustainable Buildings has
  been prepared and discussed and will be
  disseminated this year.
• Working relations will be developed further with
  EC (DGTREN and DG SANCO)
• International cooperation will be developed
  further with our main partners.
• REHVA policy will be discussed in the committees
  and promoted in the journal, website and
  Newsletter.

• Members We are inviting new members to join
  REHVA (Austria, Ukraine, Moldavia, Bulgaria,
  Greece,.)
• Members activity We invite all members to be
  more active in REHVA activities

• Each committee is asked to establish task forces
  and programme in order to invite members to a
  more active participation.
• Each board member will take a specific
  responsibility regarding designated members.
• Active individuals of REHVA members will be
  awarded in GA.

• Our policy of REHVA supporters has been a real

CLIMA CONFERENCE

• Next CLIMA conference will be held in Antalia,
  Turkey in May 2010.
• We have to strengthen our efforts for the
  success of this important REHVA event.
• Each member association has the responsibility
  of disseminating the information.
• Last time in Helsinki, the REHVA Workshops had a
  real success 20 workshops are planned in
  Antalia, we need a strong input of national
  associations and supporters.
• Two training courses are also planned in
  conjunction with ASHRAE ones.

REHVA Publications

• REHVA publications are the best vector of our
  image, a reinforced publication policy is planned
  for 2009
• REHVA guidebooks no publication of new guide
  books in 2008, 2 or 3 are already planned for
  2009 from the work of Task forces.
• REHVA Web site redesigned in 2008, more
  information available, electronic purchase of
  REHVA publications already working, more input of
  national associations are welcome.
• REHVA Newsletter 4 issues in 2008, published
  bimonthly in 2009, the real link between the
  members.

REHVA Publications

• REHVA journal
• 4 issues in 2008, 6 already planned in a 64 pages
  format for 2009.
• Olli Seppänen accepted the responsibility of
  Editor in chief of REHVA journal in order to
  develop a real editorial policy.
• The editorial board must meet at least once a
  year to review and develop the policy of the
  journal.
• More inputs from national associations and
  supporters are necessary.
• The electronic version has a real success.

REHVA Promotion

• REHVA will be promoted actively by
• Organizing seminars and workshops,
• Supporting conferences and professional events,
• Developing its internal work in task forces.

• REHVA will be represented by its president and/or
  board members
• at ASHREA winter annual meeting (Chicago),
• at EUROVENT GA,
• in many national conferences and meetings
  organized by our members,
• In international events in 2009 (Roomvent,

  Conference, Green Building Summit).

• REHVA has to develop its strong links with EC

  appointed each year by REHVA

Cooperation

• With Other International Associations
• IIR (reciprocity process for supporting
  conferences, access to IIR data base for REHVA
  members, exchange of expert data bases, .)
• ASHRAE (seminars based on reciprocity process),
  in Chicago REHVA seminar and two REHVA training
  sessions had a real success. This collaboration
  based on our MoU signed in 2007 will be develop
  further.
• AIVC and IEA (common seminars and workshops,
  publication exchange, access to Airbase,..)
• SHASE (on discussion)
• In order to share our experiences and to avoid
  duplications of efforts

Technical activities

• REHVA Dictionary is a real success,
• Task Forces have to be discussed and develop
  further in an interactive way, new working groups
  are welcome. In 2009 we focus on Building
  Performance Simulation, Air Filters in Air
  Handling Units, Solar Shading, Cooling towers
• EU Projects activities have to be strengthened
  (BUILDUP, Health programme,...)

Education

• REHVA will promote co-operation between HVAC
  professors in Europe, and disseminate information
  related to teaching materials and methods
  (Education Committee).
• In 2009, the student competition will be
  launched for the CLIMA 2010 congress.
• Each National association is invited to
  disseminate this student competition.

REHVA Organization

• Office and Secretariat
• Our office in Brussels has to be reinforced. We
  will extend our office and services in Brussels
  in 2009 (storage and handling of REHVA guide
  books, service to supporters, meeting room).
• The Secretary General will be reinforced in his
  mission (specific budget in 2009),
• The board should also be strengthen with specific
  responsibilities for designated members,

REHVA Organization

• Finance and Book Keeping
• TVVL will continue this activity for REHVA.
  Follow up of invoices and cash flow has to be
  develop. Credit card sales of REHVA publications
  have been launched in 2008 and will be develop
  further.
• Committees
• Rules activity plan and budget should be
  defined. Some support has been already included
  in 2009 budget (15 000)
• Responsive representatives will be nominated
  (confirmed) in CEN, and co-operating
  organizations
• More input from our members is needed, (in
  committees, journal, seminars, expert groups,)

• Next REHVA Annual Meeting General Assembly will

  be launched.

Board Proposition for 2010

• REHVA activity has been increasing rapidly,
• We have a stronger demand of our members and
  partners,
• We have new missions,
• We need to have more involvement of National
  Associations,
• Shall we increase the number of board members
  from 7 to 9 for 2010?
