John Bell Hood

• John was born in Owingsville,Kentucky
• He fought for the confederates
• He enlisted In the confederate army in 1861
• He survived a serious wound in the Battle of
  Chickamauga having to amputate his leg.
• He died in New Orleans Aug.30,1879

Patrick Cleburne

• Patrick was born in County Cork,Ireland
• He won the Battle of Ringgold Gap
• He fought for the confederates
• His nickname was Stonewall Franklin,Tennessee
  Nov.30, Jackson of the West
• He died in 1864

Battle of Allatoona Pass

• This battle started Oct.5,1864
• With just 5,300 men engaging in the battle,and
  1,505 causalities this is the bloodiest
  battlefield for numbers engaged.
• The Mooney House, served as a hospital during
  the battle still has bullet holes and blood
  stains on the floor

Battle of Lookout Mountain

• This battle started Nov.24,1863
• The only heavy fighting took place at Cravens
  House
• U.S Grant wroteThe Battle of Lookout Mountain is
  one of the romances of the war
• The union won the battle.

Barnsley Gardens

• Barnsley Gardens was built by Sir Godfrey
  Barnsley
• During the war Barnsley invested his money in
  Confederate Bonds which later became worthless.
• General McPherson stayed the night of May 18,1864
  was impressed by the way Barnsley treated his
  slaves.

Fort Pulaski

• In April of 1862 the Union troops directed rifle
  cannon fire at the fort taking down the southeast
  side of the fort
• Right after the capture a union general ordered
  the release of all area slaves.
