• South was angry because the North refused to
  recognize the rights of slave holders.

• Violent conflicts arose hence bleeding Kansas

• Slave trade outlawed in DC, slavery allowed

  helped stop the U. RR.
• Mexican Cession divided into New Mexico and Utah.
  Slavery decided by Pop. Sov.

John Browns Raid

• John Brown an abolitionist raids Harpers Ferry
  VA.
• Gathers other abolitionists and steals weapons
  from the Armory.
• John Brown is attempting to free all the slaves
  in VA.
• He is eventually captured and hanged.
