• Giving citizens access all day, every day
• Using a technology they are familiar with The TV
• Giving access when the citizen needs it, not when
  the call centre/offices are open

• 62 of all homes now have digital TV growing
• Analogue switch of timetable has been released
  channel will be ubiquitous by 2012

DigiTV The Headlines

• DigiTV Starter Kit is a central technology for
  all of Government with local control of services
• Very favourable costs for technology and platform
  access
• DigiTV research confirms enthusiasm interest in
  Government services increasing over next two
  years on DiTV
• LB Hillingdon work bears out the opportunity of
  DiTV as a self-service delivery channel, with
  related efficiencies
• Working with a selection of partners keen to on
  investigating DiTV to provide a holistic DiTV
  experience and really useful content services

Contract Cost Headlines

• As little as 10,000 per year per organisation to
  deliver services on SKY, NTL Telewest
• No hidden costs maintenance, training, upgrades
  included
• Compares very favourably with previous Pathfinder
  projects
• On Sky citizens pay for services as they use
  them, on cable it is part of the TV/telephony
  package
• Three levels of contract in place no need for
  individual negotiation or legal time all
  standard

Pilots Starter Kit Usage Marketing

• Starter Kit gets c. 100-120k screen views per
  month
• Negotiating other launch points and use of red
  button to drive traffic (as well as being part of
  DirectGov)
• Interactive Marketing pilots shows a 400
  increase of traffic will use this more
• Marketing undertaken locally needs to be
  factored in, both internally externally
• Marketing repository exists of all work created
  by pilot authorities for re-use by others
  posters, radio ads, leaflets
