5First Activity
- First activity at St. Adalberts
- Next week, Tuesday the 23rd
- We will carpool over
- Leave Main Circle at 345
- Can anyone drive? How many?
- We will be back by 6, but I need a few to
volunteer to stay until all the children are
picked up so last car wont get back until 615
6Mentor Accountability System
- We are here for the kids. In order to ensure the
best programming we enforce an accountability
system. - You will receive a strike for the following
- Missing an activity (2), failing to pay your
benchmark, failing to ride the bus, failing to
work the concession stand - 3 strikes, youre out
- If you must miss an activity due to an interview,
class related meeting, illness, or emergency, you
must follow this procedure - If you know ahead of time, email Lindsey at
ljones8_at_nd.edu - If it is last minute, call Katie at 847-651-1264,
must be illness or an emergency - Studying or work are not considered reasons to
miss an activity. You should plan your work
schedule and studying around College Mentors.
7Little Buddy Discipline Policy
- As a mentor, you are responsible for the daily
discipline of your little buddy. - Little buddy discipline policy
- Buddies receive 2 a week, 1 for job and 1 for
behavior, both can be taken for behavior - DO NOT BE AFRAID TO TAKE AWAY DOLLARS
- GMs are NOT disciplinarians
- We have a prize box for them to spend their money
on - 1st and 2nd graders will do a store once a
month with cash - 3rd and 4th graders will order from a catalogue
once a month with check

Our chapters budget is 7,795
approximately 150 for you and your little buddy
9Where does the money come from?
- Our chapter is funded by
- -SAO (1400) -St Joseph County
- -Nestle(1000) Community Foundation (1400)
- -Notre Dame Club of Philadelphia (500)

- MENTOR BENCHMARKS
- Each mentor is responsible for raising 25
throughout each semester - 10 due Oct. 14th - Turn into GM at Main Circle
- 15 due Dec. 2nd - Turn into GM at Main Circle
- You must also work our concession stand for the
Stanford Game on Oct. 4th

- Family and Friends Campaign
- Letter writing campaign
- In-Kind Donations
- Wal-Mart, Target, etc.
- Grant writing
- Talk to Katie or Paula for opportunities
- Walk for Kids
- Early in April
11Bus Riding Policy
- Pick-up Holy Cross and St. Adalberts or Drop off
St. Adalberts - Three mentors each way (you only have to go one
way) - Picked up at Main Circle at 320 to ride there
- Dropped off at Main Circle by 630 when ride back
- Sign up passed around
- Discipline on bus same as discipline at College

12Bus Riding Policy
- When the children are picked up
- Make sure that bus is on the same side of the
street as the school - Do not make children cross street to get to the
bus - If the children are not outside, go up to school
door and ring the buzzer to let them know you are
there you do not need to go into the school

- When the children are dropped off
- Keep them IN their seats and let them off one at
a time - Jenni will handle taking them to their parent,
but you will have a list with their pictures and
contact info if needed must only be picked up
by someone Jenni recognizes - Wait until EVERY CHILD is picked up before you
leave
14Bus Folder Policy
- We will arbitrarily assign bus folder people
every week from the people that will be riding
the bus - To school rider must PICK UP THE FOLDER IN THE
CLUB RESOURCE CENTER in the College Mentors
Mailbox before riding the bus - From school rider must DROP OFF THE FOLDER IN THE
CLUB RESOURCE CENTER in the College Mentors
Mailbox as close to IMMEDIATELY AFTER riding the
bus as possible

- After that you are done
- Rest will be handled by Activities Director,
Amanda, and VP, Lindsey - They may contact you if you list a professor you
know, also contact them if you have a good idea
or professor later - Book and snack will be handled by GM
- Weekly email informs you of topic for the week,
please look over activity sheets ahead of time
