PARADE(S) Nanterre (FR)Profondamente coinvolta
integrandoli in maniera mirata a spettacoli
professionali. La manifestazione, allestita su
una settimana, è parsa troppo lunga. Si è quindi
deciso di concentrarla su un week-end in centro
città.
60
condotto uno studio sui festivals in Francia.
Sulla base delle cifre fornite da 333 Festivals,
ovvero più del 98 dei festival
recensiti 55,5 ha un budget uguale o
inferiore 50 000 23,4 ha un budget tra i
50 000 e i 150 000 11,4 ha un budget tra
150 000 e 300 000 5,1 ha un budget tra
300 000 e 500 000 4,5 ha un budget superiore
à 500 000 Parade(s), con il suo budget di
430 000 (senza contare i servizi presi in
carico diretto dal Comune, servizi di
comunicazione, disponibilità di materiali e
personale) è quindi in buona posizione.
61
Argentina, Germania, Belgio, Brasile, Cile, Stati
uniti, Canada, Gran Bretagna, Olanda, Ungheria,
Giappone, Svizzera, Spagna.e ovviamente
Italia.Parade(s) vuole essere una vetrina della
creazione contemporanea nel campo delle arti di
strada.
62
Thank You Tetsuka, Nil Admirari, les Costards,
Cie Dare dArt, Sacrekripa, Les Piétons, E nei
quartieri tre preludi con Kumulus, les 26 000
couverts, e la compagnie la Cabriole.

Dear collegues, first of all I want to thank very
much the Vagrant Comedia project for the
invitation to this day dedicated to street
arts.Vila Real is a city of 50.000 inhabitants
and three stable companies of street theatre.
Twenty years ago, the Borough Council Office
proposed to one of these companies to organize a
street arts Festival in order to diversify the
cultural proposals in occasion of the city
events.
65
The first Festival started with a budget of
20.000 euros only and seven companies invited.
Now we have available 150.000 euros per edition
and every year we invite about 25 companies from
all over the world. The Festival organization was
committed to the companies. They participated as
actors and, meantime, also as organizers of many
similar festivals all over the world. This gave
them the opportunity to have a direct contact,
exchange and negotiation with other companies
involved in festivals organization.
66
For the last 5 years the art direction was given
to myself I am Cultural technician at the
Council of Vila-Real. The best advantage for this
is that, besides the organization of festival, I
am also engaged in programming of the Stable
Theatre of Vila-Real, so I can take the chance of
visiting other festivals in order to contact new
companies of street arts and stage theatre. Last
year we organized some Days for professional
street artists of the Valencia region.Main group
of participants were troupes, actors and
operators from Vila-Real. On the last day of
meeting, we decided to creat a  platform
calledVila-Real arts de carrer .
67
The purpose of this platform is to promote our
troupes all over the world this necessity
appeared when the system of direct contact and
exchange between the companies/festival
organizers was stopped. The PlatformArts de
carrer, which is now party of Festival, helps
our companies to attend to main Spanish fairs by
supporting the promotion expenses and hatching
the exhibition stands even in their design. The
companies must only give a small contribution by
designing the promotion stuffs for their shows,
and by contacting a representing manager who can
offer to Festivals the productions of company.
68
The twentieth edition of Vila-Real festival is
programmed from 17th to 20th of May 2007, and
everything is nearly settled already. Next year,
in occasion of the festival anniversary, we have
programmed several actions for its promotion
starting from February. At the end of April,
infact, we will have an enormous presentation
happening for medias and for all people willing
to partecipate. In Vila Real, in the course of
twenty years, the Festival has been able to
create an audience who now respect everything can
be found on street, but, whats more, the
audience now have a deep standard of judgment.
For this reason, the art director must be year by
year more engaged to find interesting companies
for demanding audience.
69
The quantity of audience increases year by years.
It is quite hard to value precisely but,
considering that we have four big open air spaces
prepared with chairs up to 500 seats, and also
considering that an average of 2.000 persons can
assist to the big night shows, we think that
could be reasonable to value a total of 5.000
spectators per festival. As you can imagine, it
is very difficult to attend to all shows, because
you must always try to link all shows together in
order to grant a continuous flow of shows to
audience. Next year we decided to call companies
from very far foreign countries. They will
perform their shows twice, in order to grant show
to be seen as many persons as possibile.
70
The organization staff is made by an art
director, a techician director, a chief
property-man, an administrator, eight property
men and a ceremony master, as well a team of
lighting and audio technicians, and, last but not
least, our sun and Mediterranean temperatures
which give a warmer and cosier atmosphere to our
Festival.Many thanks
