During the Fair Meeting Employers
  • Like a first date
  • Make eye contact, shake hands
  • (no hugging might scare them off)
  • Tell them about yourself and what youre looking
    for
  • Ask questions, be enthusiastic
  • Try to relax
  • Remember their name!
  • Take a business card, leave a resume

How to introduce yourself
  • Name
  • Year (Sophomore, Junior)
  • Exams (passed, recently taken, future plans)
  • What you are looking for
  • Internship/Full-Time
  • Consulting/Insurance (if you have a preference)
  • Questions make for a good transition
  • Theyll often do most of the talking

  • How many interns do you usually have?
  • Do you have a formal training program?
  • What actuarial departments have positions?
  • What kind of projects would I be working on?
  • How much can you bench press?
  • Many, many, many others

After the Fair
  • Did you really like a certain company?
  • E-mail them and thank them for coming
  • Do you know when they are interviewing?
  • Are you registered with the BCC?
  • Come to interview meeting so you dont screw up!
