What is an Adverb Clause?

• Zarf cümlesi nedir?

• "He saw Mary when he was in New York" and "They
  studied hard because they had a test" are adverb
  clauses.
• O Newyorktayken Maryi gördü ve Iyi
  çalistilar çünkü sinavlari vardi bu cümleler
  zarf cümleleridir.

• Adverb clauses express when, why, opposition and
  conditions, and are dependent clauses.
• Zarf Cümleleri bir olayin ne zaman, neden, nasil
  oldugunu ifade ederler ve bagli cümlelerdir.

• This means that an adverb clause can not stand by
  itself - in other words, "When he went to New
  York." is not a complete sentence.
• Bu bir zarf cümlesi tek basina kullanilamaz
  anlamina gelir - bir baska deyisle, O Newyorka
  gittiginde tamamlanmis bir cümle degildir.

• It needs to be completed by an independent
  clause. Example He went to the Guggenheim museum
  when he was in New York.
