- What you put on your answer sheet reflects how
hard you have worked this year. - Let it reflect a positive picture.
- Use breathing techniques to calm yourself if you
get anxious.
6Remain Focused!
- The End-of-Grade tests arent easy, but dont let
yourself be distracted by anything that prevents
you from doing your best. - Remember that you control the outcome of your
test results.
7Time is Important!
- Use the time that you are given so that you can
perform your best. - Keep track of how much time you have left.
- If you finish early, go back over your test.
- Remember that your test reflects your abilities
and you want a true reflection of your abilities.
8Know what to expect!
- Know that you will experience some easy questions
on the tests and some that are not so easy. - When you come to a question which you find
difficult, use your test taking skills that you
have been practicing with your teachers to figure
out the best possible answer.
9Try to answer all the test questions!
- When you come to a difficult question, dont
spend too much time trying to figure it out. - Wait until youve finished the easy questions.
- Then go back and work on the hard ones in the
time you have left.
10SLASH THAT TRASH!
- Get rid of unimportant sentences or information
in test questions. - Get rid of answer choices that you know are not
correct-Try to narrow to 50/50. - Some answer choices are different by just one
word. - Look for definite words like always and
never. These are usually NOT the answer.
11Dont give up when you come to a difficult
question!
- Its best to make a good guess at the answer.
- Rememberif you dont answer the question, then
it is automatically scored as incorrect. Any
answer will give you a 25 chance.
12Use Good Judgment!
- Be sure that the answer you have chosen actually
answers the question you have been asked. - Take the time to make sure.
13Dont Over Analyze
- Dont read more into a question than is actually
there. - Double check to be sure that you arent adding
information on your own to the question. - Also, be sure to read all of the choices before
making a selection. - Visualize what the question is asking you.
14Use the materials you are allowed to use during
testing!
- If you are given a calculator, formulas,
protractor, or scrap paper, use them. - Remember that they are there so that you can do
your best possible job. - If you need more paper or another pencil, raise
your hand.
15CHECK IT OUT!
- Check after every 5 answers to make sure that
your question number matches your answer number. - Write your final answer to the left of the
choices in your test booklet so that if you
misalign you can easily find your error. - Make sure that you are bubbling answers in the
correct section of the test.
