The Council of Trent

• The Pope was keen to make sure that the Catholic
  Church remained unified after the Protestant
  Reformation in Germany
• A council of abbots, cardinals and bishops was
  called by the Pope in Trent, Italy in 1545 to
  discus what the Catholic Church could do solve
  the problems it faced

  issues that need a solution
• On your own read through the problems and think
  of how the Catholic Church can solve the problems
  it faced
• In your group, discuss your individual solutions
  and decide which one you think is the best.
