Why they were founded
  • The colonies were founded because people were
    looking for more land .The people that traveled
    there were travelers searching for religious
    freedom.

The thirteen colonies
  • Delaware was founded in 1639 by Peter Minuit.
  • Pennsylvania was founded by William Penn in 1682.
  • New York was found by Duke of York in 1664.New
    Jersey was found in 1664 by Lord Berkeley and sir
    George Carteret.Rhode Island was found in 1636 by
    Roger Williams.Connecticut was found in 1635 by
    Thomas Hooker.Massachusetts was found in 1630 by
    John Winthrop.New Hampshire in 1638 by John
    Wheelwright.Maryland was found in 1663 by lord
    Baltimore.Virginia was found in 1607

    by Virginia colonists.South Carolina was found in
    1663 by English colonists. Georgia was found in
    1732 by James Oglethorpe .

  • The New England colonies soil rocky which means
    low amounts of agriculture.The Southern colonies
    has good rich soil and lots of land for farming..
    Middles Colonies there are many harbors for
    fishing and lots of plains.

Their Daily Life
  • Their daily life was,they grew their own food and
    the women cooked,cleaned and took care of the
    kids.The men chopped wood,grew crops and
    hunted.The children played with toys that were
    hand made by them.They also went to school and
    did chores.

Religion
  • The Middle colonists left for religious
    freedom.The New England colonists also left for
    religious freedom,so did the Southern colonists.

Economic Conditions
  • They grew their own food and had lots of
    agriculture in all of the regions.they also all
    traded foods that they grew.They manufactured
    newspapers to the people.

Slavery
  • All of the regions had slavery.They treated the
    slaves like animals.The slaves did lots of hard
    labor.
