Helpful hints
  • When dissecting your pig, keep in mind that
    dissecting is not just about cutting into your
    pig but is also about learning about the world
    around you.
  • When using your dissecting needles, remember that
    they are useful in tracing blood vessels and
    nerves, and in separating muscles.
  • Study the organs as they are exposed.
  • Leave the blood vessels connected to the organs
    intact.
  • Confirm the names and locations of body parts on
    your specimen.
  • When using scissors, advance with rounded end,
    not the pointed end.
  • Move organs aside with a blunt object.
