    in paper towels.
  • Place the uterus so it is the shape of a Y
  • Feel around the uteruss surface for where the

    wall.
  • In the center of the Y shape is the cervix.

4
Fallopian Tubes
Fallopian Tubes
  • The Fallopian tubes can be found on the outside
    of the uterus.
  • They tubes look like long thin stretches of skin.

5
First Incision
  • Make an incision directly above where the lump of
    the fetus is.
  • Pull back the Uterus along the cut to reveal the
    fetus in the placental membrane.
  • There will be a lot of fluid spilling out, so
have paper towels ready to clean it up with.

6
Removal of Fetus
  • You should be able to simply pull the fetus out
    of the incision.
  • Make a cut towards the end of the placental
    membrane to free the fetus.

7
Revealing the Fetus
  • Begin to make a cut into the placental membrane,
and peel the membrane off the fetus.
  • Be careful not to cut the umbilical cord, because
    that is interesting to observe.

Repeat the previous steps until all the fetuses
are removed.
  • Use the ruler to measure the lengths of the
Fetuses. Use the lengths and general appearances
to judge the differences in development of the
    litter.

Study of the Uterus.
  • It can be seen that the muscle tissue on the
inside of the placenta is smooth.
  • This means that it is involuntary, which would
    be understandable during child birth.

11
Fallopian Tubes
  • It can be seen that the Fallopian tube enters the
uterus from the outside and goes in.
  • This is how the embryo gets implanted into the
    uterus.
