  • In 1998 the French government founded an
    organization called the
  • EduFrance Agency to promote French higher
    education abroad.
  • In 2007, EduFrance became CampusFrance.
  • CampusFrance is placed under the supervision of
    the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and
    the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
  • CampusFrance is dedicated to promoting
    international mobility for students, academics
    and researchers.

Mission objectives
  • Under the supervision of ministerial authorities
    and in conjunction with

    conferences,
  • CampusFrance aims to
  • Promote French higher education programmes
    throughout the world.
  • Offer international students a path to success
    via higher education

  • Assist international students beginning with
    their first enquiries made in their home
    countries to their actual stay in France and
    ending with the trip home to their countries of
    origin.
  • In association with other stakeholders,
    CampusFrance is creating a Quality Charter for
    all international students.

    schools,

  • Specialized schools, including 20 art schools and
    French language schools.

Partners - CampusFrance offices
  • CampusFrance has established more than 100
    offices in 75 countries.
  • CampusFrance offices aim primarily at providing
    assistance to international students interested
    in study programmes in France, from the initial
    information seeking to university pre-enrolment.
  • In connection with CampusFrance Paris, which
    organizes major promotional events such as
    education fairs in host countries, CampusFrance
    offices also promote French higher education at
    local universities.
  • CampusFrance offices are run by personnel trained
    by CampusFrance in close association with the
    supervising ministries and the official
    conferences.
  • An online application system has been set up in
    close to 30 countries which can also handle visa
    request procedures.

Services - promotional events throughout the world
  • The CampusFrance programme of events abroad
    (education fairs, forums,
  • thematic visits, university tours), which draw on
    average 150,000 visitors
  • per year, is conceived in close consultation with
    the supervising authorities
  • and the higher education institutions along with
    their official conferences.
  • CampusFrance organizes education fairs in
    conjunction with major international events
    (cultural exchange programmes, universal
    exhibitions, commemorations).
  • CampusFrance has experimented a number of new
    concepts, such as thematic university tours,
    specialized networking sessions, workshops on
    academic innovation and the promotion of doctoral
    programmes.

programmes
  • CampusFrance, in collaboration with the Ministry
    of Higher Education and
  • Research, has developed a unique information
    resource for international
  • doctoral students.
  • The www.campusfrance.org website provides an
    online catalogue for doctoral programmes
    searchable through 20,000 keywords or 80 thematic
    disciplines. The catalogue, which is available in
    English, features a presentation of doctoral
    programmes as well as details on research units.

Services - activities with the European Union
  • Over the past years, CampusFrance, in
    collaboration with partner
  • institutions, has developed activities in the
    field of European exchanges
  • CampusFrance is the leader of a consortium
    comprised of the DAAD (Germany), Nuffic (the
    Netherlands) and the British Council, whose goal
    is to implement a series of symposia on higher
    education cooperation and organize European
    education fairs in Asia up to 2008.
  • CampusFrance has carried out numerous studies and
    analyses at the request of ACA (Academic
    Cooperation Association, a Brussels-based
    association of organizations promoting academic
    mobility).
  • CampusFrance is currently participating in
    projects within the framework of the Erasmus
    Mundus action IV programme to train the
    representatives of agencies promoting higher
    education in the Balkans and Eastern European
    countries.

  • It allows easy access to all the information
    needed for preparing ones studies in France,
    from choosing ones study programme via the
    online catalogue, to arriving in France.
  • In order to better respond to local demand, 53
    country-specific websites have been developed on
    the basis of a model defined by CampusFrance.
  • In 2007, more than a million visitors consulted
    ten million web pages.

  • Created in 2006 and available in four languages,
    the CampusFrance
  • online catalogue is a search engine giving access
    to over 33,000 French
  • higher education study programmes.
  • In 2008, doctoral studies have been included in
    the catalogue.

  • The Choose France guide
  • The Choose France guide, published in several
    languages (French, English, Spanish, Portuguese,
    Chinese) is regularly updated and provides
    international students with information
    pertaining to the French higher education system
    and study opportunities while simultaneously
    promoting Frances cultural assets and quality of
    life.
  • The catalogue of programmes taught in English
  • The fifth edition, which was updated
    in 2008, contains information relating to 550
    study programmes taught in English at French
    higher education institutions and provides
    details on these courses which aim to attract
    English-speaking students to France.
