5Disc Golf in the State of Wisconsin
- Wisconsin disc golf courses are installed at an
unbelievable pace - We currently rank 5th among all states for number
of courses. - Course growth has been greater than 12 for the
past 10 years. - Elite players compete, learn, and thrive in
Wisconsin - Four of the top fifteen players in the world
currently live in Wisconsin. - World Champion Barry Schultz attributes his
skills to the courses and mentors found in
Wisconsin - Well established courses and highly successful,
highly attended state tour - WI tournaments have offered events ranging from
D-Tiers to NT. 2004 saw 16 PDGA sanctioned
events with 21 scheduled for 2005. - The thirteen stop WI Tour rivals MADC events,
MDGO series and others. - In 2004 Wisconsin hosted the largest ever PDGA
sanctioned Junior event

- The Appleton area hosted the 1998 Amateur World
Championships. The event consumed countless
volunteers, patronized hundreds of sponsors, saw
course installations and led to the birth of the
Wisconsin Disc Sports Association. - The magnitude of any World Championship carries a

perseverance, and knowledge. I am pleased to
announce the following people are returning from
the 1998 Worlds to help in 2007. - Duster Don Hoffman Tom Jenkins

8Staff Volunteers
We are fortunate in Milwaukee to have many people
willing to volunteer their time and talents for
the sport of disc golf and specifically for the
Am Worlds. The staff members for this event have
been included because of their experience and
ability to perform well under pressure.
Volunteer commitments have already been received
from dozens of very capable people. We are
confident that the Am Worlds staff and numerous
volunteers will provide a professional experience
for players and spectators.

we will offer rounds starting at 730 / 1030 /

11Courses
- Dretzka Park (Permanent course)
- This course is located on the Northwest side of
Milwaukee, ten miles from headquarters, in a
large public park. A wide variety of holes can be
found at this course. This course has played
host to the Rumbletown Supertour for the past
five years. It is also the destination for one
of the largest winter events in the nation, The
Big Chill. This course has dual tees for 13 of
the 18 holes and offers three to five pin
positions for every hole. - Parking 150 spaces total.
- Restrooms Portable restrooms are standard
during the summer months. These will be
increased to accommodate for the event. - Water Water will be provided in 3 to 4 locations
throughout the course. - Notes With the multiple pin placements and
t-pads this course is able to challenge players
of all skill levels from the novice to the world
class player. We use a standard set of added
holes which can be as few as three or as many as
nine. This will be the premier course of the
World Championships.
12Courses (continued)
- Dretzka Park (Temporary or permanent course)
- The abundance of land provides us with the
opportunity to host an additional 18 hole
championship caliber course. Milwaukee County is
currently entertaining proposals to make this a
permanent fixture. Worst case scenario, we will
offer an 18 hole temp course. - Parking 120 spaces total.
- Restrooms Portable restrooms are standard
during the summer months. These will be
increased to accommodate for the event. - Water Water will be provided in 3 to 4 locations
throughout the course. - Notes Milwaukee County has approved us to use
this additional space/land. Ideally, this will
become a permanent course within the next 2 years
and it will rival its counterpart located on the
other side of the parking lot.
13Courses (continued)
- Franklin Sports Complex (Permanent course)
- Located on Milwaukees southwest side, 12 miles
from headquarters, MCSC offers a full service pro
shop and indoor warm up facility. This course
features distance with slight elevation. - Parking 150 spaces next to Tournament Central
- Restrooms Full scale locker room located at the
facility. Additional restrooms available on the
course. - Water At least two water stations will be
available in addition to refreshments available
at the complex. - Notes This facility is valuable because of the
55,000 square foot indoor fieldhouse that is part
of the Milwaukee County sports complex.
14Courses (continued)
- Dineen (Permanent or Temporary)
- Located approximately 10 miles north east of
headquarters, this course is formally a par three

- Recruiting businesses to sponsor the Am Worlds

prizes and prestige that players are vying for in
such an event. - As a team, we have a great track record of
recruiting businesses to sponsor our course
construction and tournaments. If we receive the
bid to host the 2007 Am Worlds, we are prepared
to mount a fund-raising campaign, which will
result in the best purse ever for this event. - Both Jim Klem and Mike Batka have extensive
sales and sponsorship skills. Their efforts to
lead this charge will be nothing short of
colossal.
