  new national organization of conference

  Constitution and Bylaws were adopted -
  Conference Directors changed to Conference
  Presidents - The National Association of
  Conference Presidents was organized - Judge
  Eddie Borman elected as the first National
  President - UMMen become a section within the
  General Board of Discipleship

  Men at Purdue University1978 The Upper Room
  established the Upper Room Living Prayer Center
  in partnership with the UMMen1979 GBOD faces
  financial shortages, places scouting on the low
  priority list - UMMen ask for church scouting
  to be transferred to the men, transferred
  1/1/801996 General Conference votes to create
  the General Commission on United Methodist
  Men2005 UMMens Congress becomes the 9th
  National Gathering of United Methodist Men

• 5 have a major problem with pornography
• 4 will get divorced affecting 1,000,000 children
  each year
• Only 1 will have a biblical worldview
• All ten will struggle to balance family work

• 108,000,000 men 15 or older (est. 2003)
• 66,000,000 men dont know Christ
• Only 6,000,000 men in discipleship
• 72,000,000 children under 18. Tonight 33 of them
  will go
• to bed in a home without a biological father
• 40 of first marriages end in divorce affecting
  1,000,000 children each year
• 33 of all children are born out of wedlock
