Is It Ethical?

Introduction

• Genetic Engineering is the altering of genes.
  Sooner or later, Genetic Engineering (GE) will be
  a big part of our lives, which will then lead to
  our descendants lives. Genetic Engineering will
  be able to alter a person's genes so that you can
  eliminate illnesses, diseases, and disorders.

• Genetic Engineering now is the treating of a
  disease, but the treatment wont pass to your
  children. Scientists are finding ways so it will.

Pro side of Genetic Engineering

• Genetic Engineering will give us (in theory) the
  ultimate power to alter the basic unit of life,
  a cell.
• Genetic Engineering can block diseases and
  disorders (like ADD or Heart Disease) from

• You can give your children the best genes, like a
  strong intelligence, a lean body, or a strong

Con side of Genetic Engineering

• Genetic Engineering can hurt, mutate or destroy
  other cells with the technology we have today.

• Nobody really knows what will happen, since we
  haven't done it yet.
• A terrorist could figure out how to genetically
  engineer an army of super fighters to rule the
  world.
• We are making an creature that is not meant to be

My Opinion

• I think that Genetic Engineering is unethical
  because
• We don't necessarily know if we could control it.
• We don't know what is going to happen. We don't
  understand what can go wrong with these
  genetically engineered people. We do not know if
  we can reverse what we have done.

• Our Death rate would drop and our birth right
  would rise, causing a very quickly growing over
  population.
• Terrorists could make a super-army that are great
  fighters to rule the world.
• We are trying to make ourselves better, something
  we shouldnt do.
• We are trying make people without normal
  conception. (Playing God)
