9Subordinate Conjunctions
- Subordinating conjunctions introduce dependent
(subordinate) clauses and join the dependent
clause to the independent or main clause in a
sentence. - A dependent clause has a subject and verb, but
it depends on the independent clause for context
and meaning.

- Subordinate clauses turn an independent clause to

- If you introduce the sentence with your sub-o,
then you must put a comma at the end of your
dependent clause. - If you stick your sub-o conjunction in the
middle, NO COMMA!

14More than 2 independent clauses (a.k.a. run-ons!)
- I like to eat pizza.
- I like Pizza Hut.
- My favorite pizza is Pepperoni Lovers.
- How can I combine these suckers? Remember, you
cannot use more than 2 independent clauses in a
compound sentence!
