Title: UltraPulse Encore
1UltraPulse Encore
- Multi-application System for Incisional,
Excisional and Skin Resurfacing Procedures
2ActiveFX and MaxFX
Dramatic Results in Tone, Texture, and
Tightening in a Single Treatment!
3MaxFX has great results but
4requires downtime
Patients want results but not down-time!
5ActiveFX vs. MaxFX
- Healing Times for Resurfacing Procedures
- Stratum corneum exfoliation 2-3 days healing
time - Basal layer exfoliation 4-6 days healing time
- Papillary dermis peel 7-8 days healing time
- Mid-dermis peel 10-12 days healing time
Trading lower down-time for more modest results
6What is the Best Wavelength?
Erbium (2940nm) is so ablative there is minimal
dermal heating (therefore, no collagen
stimulation)
CO2 provides an ideal combination of epidermal
ablation and heat to the dermis
Wavelengths below 2000nm provide NO ablation (no
immediate contraction) and only heat
7ActiveFX Advantages
- Immediate tightening at time of procedure, PLUS
collagen stimulation for even better long-term
results - Short procedure time
- Single treatment
- No consumables
- 3 Ts Tone, Texture, Tightening
- Noticeable results
- Multi-application, multi-specialty system
8ActiveFX vs. Traditional CO2Smaller Spots Are
Scanned
- 1.3mm diameter versus 2.25mm diameter
- 1/3 surface area (1.3mm2 vs 3.97mm2) for each
scanned spot, but spots are placed 3 times as
fast to keep the coverage time very fast - Less heat build-up around spots ? less erythema
edema

9ActiveFX vs. Traditional CO2Lower density in
the pattern
- Leaves bridges intact
- Allows for thermal relaxation between ablated
spots
ActiveFX Settings (small bridges of healthy
tissue left intact for faster healing)
Traditional Settings (spots touch or even
overlap)

12ActiveFX vs. Traditional CO2Different
Parameters
- ActiveFX
- Energy (80-100mj)
- CoolScan
- Very Low Density 1-3
- Low Rep. Rate 50-125 Hz
CO2 Lite Energy 35-60mj No CoolScan
Density 4-6 Rep. Rate 400-600 Hz Nice for
dyschromia, but only minimal tightening and
textural changes
Traditional CO2 Energy100-150mj No CoolScan
Density 5-9 Rep. Rate 400-600 Hz
- ActiveFX Results
- Reduced pain (Low density repetition rate)
- Fast procedure time (20 minutes)
- Good immediate tightening
- Long-term collagen stimulation
