for public policy-making (2000 to present)

4Objectives of the system of indicators
- To produce the information needed to increase the
visibility of womens situation and the
inequality existing between men and women - To disseminate comparable information
- To promote the use of new indicators (poverty,
violence, labour) - To strengthen new information sources (time-use
surveys) - To provide technical inputs for policy decisions
- To contribute to user-producer links
- To fulfil mandates on the production and
dissemination of gender statistics - Regional Programme of Action for the Women of
Latin America and the Caribbean (Mar del Plata,
1994) - Platform for Action adopted at the Fourth World
