Title: WITNESSING FOR CHRIST

1
WITNESSING FOR CHRIST
2
The Challenge
WE ARE WITNESSES FOR CHRIST TO THE WORLD BY OUR
LIFE, OUR LOVE AND OUR WORDS.
3
1. Read Matthew 516. What can be the result of
your doing good things?
4
In the same way, let your light shine before men,
that they may see your good deeds and praise your
Father in heaven.
5
2. Read Mark 518- 20. Where did Jesus send the
man he had healed?
6
"Go home to your family and tell them how much
the Lord has done for you, and how he has had
mercy on you."
7
3. In John140-42, what did Andrew do
immediately after he began following Jesus?
8
The first thing Andrew did was to find his
brother Simon and tell him, "We have found the
Messiah" (that is, the Christ).
9
4. According to John 1334-35, what did Jesus
say would happen if Christians love each other?
10
By this all men will know that you are my
disciples, if you love one another."
11
5.Notice in Acts 418-20 how Peter and John
reacted when they were commanded not to witness
for Christ. Why do you think they felt this way?
12
Then they called them in again and commanded them
not to speak or teach at all in the name of
Jesus. But Peter and John replied, "Judge for
yourselves whether it is right in God's sight to
obey you rather than God. For we cannot help
speaking about what we have seen and heard."
13
6. Why was Paul not ashamed of the gospel?
(Romans 116)
14
I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the
power of God for the salvation of everyone who
believes first for the Jew, then for the
Gentile.
15
7a.Read 2 Timothy 223-26. In our witnessing,
why should we avoid foolish arguments? (verse
23)
16
Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid
arguments, because you know they produce
quarrels.
17
7b.What is the right attitude to have toward
those who oppose the gospel? (verses 24-26)
18
Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in
the hope that God will grant them repentance
leading them to a knowledge of the truth,
19
  • According to
  • 1 Peter 315, for what should we always be
    prepared?

20
But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord.
Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone
who asks you to give the reason for the hope that
you have. But do this with gentleness and
respect.
21
Pauls Story
9.How did Paul begin his story? (Acts 262-3)
22
2 "King Agrippa, I consider myself fortunate to
stand before you today as I make my defense
against all the accusations of the Jews, 3 and
especially so because you are well acquainted
with all the Jewish customs and controversies.
Therefore, I beg you to listen to me patiently.
23
10.What characterize Pauls background? (Acts
264-5, 9-11)
24
Paul was a former Pharisee and persecuted
Christians before he was converted.
25
11.What reversed the direction of Pauls life?
(Acts 2612-15)
26
I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic, 'Saul,
Saul, why do you persecute me? It is hard for you
to kick against the goads. "Then I asked, 'Who
are you, Lord?' "'I am Jesus, whom you are
persecuting,' the Lord replied.
27
12.How did Paul explain the gospel? (Acts
2623)
28
That the Christ would suffer and, as the first to
rise from the dead, would proclaim light to his
own people and to the Gentiles.
29
Your Story
Now that youve seen how Paul gave his story,
work on a way to tell yours. Sharing how you
became a Christian can be one of the best ways of
witnessing.
30
Follow these guidelines
  • Make it personal. Tell what Christ has done for
    you.
  • Make it short. Three or four minutes to cover
    the important facts.
  • Keep Christ central. Always highlight what he
    has done for you.
  • Use the Scriptures.

31
13.Write your story.
32
Story Outline
  • My life before I trusted Christ.
  • How I Trusted Christ.
  • Since Ive Trusted Christ.

Ask God to strengthen you as you share your story
to non-Christians.
