NOVA Seminar 2005PhD course evaluationProf.
Sune Linder, SLU
Based on courses 2003/general aspects.
  • Main conclusions
  • Courses very successful and appreciated by
    students and teachers.
  • Continue to develop format and content of
    applications.
  • Advertise courses more widely. Ensure that
network members in each country are more active
    in recruiting students.
  • Not acceptable that more than 50 of the
students coming from host country can get NOVA
    support.
  • Forest Faculty of University of Joensuu,
Finland, should be invited to be a member of
NOVA. Strengthen the forest related issues.

Discussed by KUF and at a special seminar March
2005.

Report of the external evaluator on the NOVA-BOVA
self-evaluation (Jan 2005) Dr. Cees M. Karssen
  • The future of the NOVA-BOVA co-operations is
uncertain. In spite of the successful programmes
of the networks, clear statements about the
    future are missing.
  • The future of NOVA-BOVA is fully dependent on the
acquirement of external financial support. It has
to take advantage of the political priority for
    Baltic-Nordic co-operation.
  • To become a likely candidate for such funding it
is an urgent priority that the Boards of both
BOVA and NOVA express again their full support to
the network of networks and formulate a clear
joint mission and policy document. BOVA has to
give priority to its internal organisation and
the formulation of its strategy. NOVA has to make
clear what its ambitions are towards the
    co-operation.

NOVA Seminar 2005Martin Solli, Chairman of NOVA
Student Forum, NSFApril 2005
Mange
stilte spørsmål om hvorfor ikke universitetet
hade mer informasjon angående dette? Noen lurte
på om det ikke var mulig å reise uten at man hade
en plass å bo. De så ikke på hybel som noe
problem!

    different ways, increasing quality of
    applications, visibility and possibilities for
    funding.

networks, anchoring at home universities, strong
    NOVA secretariat support and external
    co-financing.
  • NOVA has fortified a further increase of student
mobility between the NOVA members as well as from
    the Baltic countries to NOVA.
