6Kungsbacka history in short
- Market town from the 13th century
- Records of two market places in Kungsbacka date
as far back as King Valdemar in 1231 - Belonged to Denmark until 1630
- In the 12th century Kungsbacka and the
whole region of Halland became part of the Danish
kingdom
- A fire destroyed the entire town on a market
night in August 1846 - The railway between Gothenburg and Kungsbacka
opened in 1888 - The population began to increase rapidly in the
1960s
