  • Media interest trial funeral of Till with
    open casket expulsion of 1st black student
  • Legal prosecution - 1st time whites had been
    accused of murder of a black Lucy to Alabama
    University to federal court
  • Lack of presidential intervention - President
    Eisenhower didnt comment on either case, in
    contrast with Truman
