Who was to blame?
  • Hindenburg his unwillingness to appoint Hitler,
    even though the Nazis were the largest single
    party and reliance on the advice of the elite,
    left him out of touch
  • Von Papen naïve, he thought he could squeeze
    Hitler so far into a corner he would squeal
  • Schleicher unsuccessful Chancellor, and left no
    alternative but to try Hitler
