Terrorism? What happens and Where

• The most common type of attacks are?
• Hijacking
• Kidnapping
• Random killing
• Suicide attacks
• Bombing
• Car bombs
• Many people lose lives
• It can happen in all the world
• In cities, country, states and even continents
• In Iraq, the capital Baghdad has had the most
  attacks in the country
• In total there has been about 4000-7000 incidents
• In other cities there have been from 1 to 800
  incidents

Terrorism Effects

• About 2,000,000 of the population in Iraq have
  migrated to other countries.
• Another 2 million have moved inside Iraq.
• During the last two years (2006 and 2007) about 1
  million have moved internally.
• About 60,000 people leave their homes every
  month.
• When people move they usually move twice or more
• In the first move its a push factor because they
  are escaping from terrorism,
• In the second or third move it is a pull because
  they are looking for jobs, good schools and a
  better life than they had before.
• To be able to move people have to sell their
  things and use their savings and usually borrow
  money from family and friends.

More Terrorism Effects

• Many people have questions about what happened
  and why.
• People not near an attack are still scared.
• Many of the people want to express many feelings
  with friends and family and strangers.
• Many people suffer after an attack for many
  reasons loss of family, family separation,
  houses are destroyed and many people have to
  move.
• Many people can chose if they migrate. That is
  voluntary.
• And other people cant chose if they migrate.
  That is involuntary.
• There are some positive effects of migration,
  since they often spread their culture and customs
  to other parts of the world.
