Create your podcast

• Podcasts are simply mp3 files or in some cases
  mp4.
  
• Currently could not find software to create
  enhanced podcast on Windows computers
  
• Reference for legal issues to think about

• Audacity

• Free and simple to use
• Propaganda
• http//www.makepropaganda.com/
• 49.95 to purchase
• More features then Audacity for, including a
  publish function
  
• Now you need to get the file hosted
• OIT will host it for you
• Simply request an account
• http//classroom.osu.edu

Getting access

Get it hosted

• In a short time you should get a username and
  password
  
• Use an ftp program to logon
• Can get CoreFTP from http//osusls.osu.edu/
• Upload your podcast (mp3 or mp4 file)
• email streaming_at_osu.edu tell them how you want
  the file hosted
  
• Can also be streamed from their servers
• Can leverage a stable link or RSS feed
• Should get an email back with requested link
  generally within a day

Using your podcast

• You can paste your static link into your course
  website or carmen site
  
• RSS feed allows people to subscribe
• Third option is to register your podcast with
  iTunes
  
• Download iTunes if you dont have it
• Open iTunes and go to the Music Store
• Click on Podcasts under Inside the Music
  Store
  
• Finally click on Submit a Podcast and follow
  the directions
  
• Keep in mind the third option makes your podcast
  available to the entire world
