the Olympics

• The Greeks invented athletic contests in honor of
  their gods. These contests were called the
  Olympics and they occurred every 4 years. The
  Olympics started in 700 B.C in Olympia.

Greek wars

• There were many wars in ancient Greece but the
  most famous was the Trojan war. The legend says
  that troy stole Helen from Athens and then Athens
  and troy went to war.

Famous people

• Many famous people were born in Greece like,
  Archimedes, Sophocles, Euripedes, Aeschylus, and
  many more.

Alexander The great

• Alexander the great was born in July 356 B.C. in
  Macedonia. Alexander was one of the greatest
  military generals in the world. Alexander
  conquered much of what was civilized in the world
  at that time.

Sparta

• Sparta was a country of war. What they did was
  they trained boys all of there life to fight. If
  the Infant had any defect when they were born
  they would leave the baby in a cave to die. In
  Sparta boys were appreciated a lot more than
  girls.

Athens

• Athens was much more civilized then Sparta.
  Athens appreciated athletics like running races
  and sports that were in the Olympics. And Athens
  didnt force the boys to be in the army most of
  there life.
