Title: The Oregon Trail

1
The Oregon Trail
  • The Oregon Trail was a trail from Independence,
Missouri to Oregon. The pioneers that took the
Oregon trail wanted to find cheap farmland and
    start new lives in Oregon.

2
Independence, Missouri
  • The pioneers that were going to take the Oregon
Trail went from their homes to Independence,
Missouri. There they dropped off the things that
they couldnt take with them. When the first sign
of spring came they were off to Oregon.

3
The Blue River
  • The Blue River was the first river crossing on
the way to Oregon. When crossing rivers you had
to be very careful not to get your wagon stuck in
the river. Sometimes the wagons would even tip
    over.

4
Transportation
  • The pioneers used wagons and walked on foot most
of the Oregon Trail. They sometimes had to use
ferries they made out of logs to get their wagons
    across the rivers.

5
Hardships
  • Some of the hardships on the Oregon Trail were
  • crossing rivers,
  • walking for long periods of time,
  • wild animals,
  • poisonous foods.

6
Stops On The Oregon Trail
  • Fort Boise- Fort Boise was located in Idaho.
    Pioneers stayed in Fort Boise.
  • South Pass- After pioneers passed the South Pass
they knew that they have passed the hardest part
    of the trail.
