• In English it is the ing form of the verb

To form regular present participles in Spanish

• Go to the infinitive
• Verb form that ends in ar, -er or-ir in Spanish
• Drop the ending
• -ar, -er, ir
• Add on ando for regular ar verbs
• Add on iendo for regular er and ir verbs

• Vivir ? viviendo (living)
• Comer ? comiendo (eating)
• Hacer ? haciendo (doing or making)
