Background

• Ocean pollution is a major problem that is
  affecting planet Earth.
  
• The ocean got polluted because of man-kind
  throwing trash in the ocean and accidently
  dumping oil in the ocean.
• Garbage dumping, oil spills, and other sources of
  pollution all show we need to protect the Earth.

Garbage Dumping

• When it rains, garbage goes into sewage pipes
  which flows into waters.
• When trash gets into waters it kills animals and
  plants.
• Sea turtles mistake plastic bags as jelly and if
  they can eat it, they could die from it.
• Plastic rings get caught on birds necks and
  they can choke to death.

Oil Pollution

• When oil gets on animals it can cause growth
  problems and diseases.
• Every year ships release millions of gallons of
  oil into lakes, rivers, and the ocean.
• Once oil gets into the ocean, it kills animals
  and plants.
• Only thirty-three percent of oil is spilled by
  accident.

Boating and other Pollutions

• Pollution causes a lot of sea life death.
• When it rains, chemicals get off crops and end up
  in the ocean and killing sea life.
• Car smoke gets turned into acid rain that gets
  into the ocean and kills sea life over time.
• There are organic ways to stop bugs.

Arguments

• Most people fish in motorized boats, but
  motorized boats release oil into waters.
• A lot of people put chemicals on their plants.
  When it rains the chemicals end up in the ocean
  and kill animals.
• A lot of people throw their trash out of their
  car when theyre in a hurry. When it rains the
  trash flows into sewage pipes and ends up in
  waters.
• Everyone needs to be more careful not to pollute
  our ocean.

What can we do to help?

• Use Electric cars and you could carpool
• Throw your trash away into the trashcan.
• Try to used your boats less.
• Use a canteen instead of a water bottle every
  day.
• Last but not least, recycle.
