3Review Board for the Performance Appraisal
System
Functions
To hear the views of staff members in instances
in which the staff member believes that the
supervisor has not accurately evaluated
his/her Performance and contests the
evaluation/recommendation.
To review the PARs and examine recommendations
before they are submitted to Review Meeting on
HRM matters.
To make recommendations to the Review Meeting on
HRM matters and participate in the process of
further improvement of the PAS.
4Joint Appeals Board
Functions
To consider and advise the Secretary-General
regarding appeals filed by staff members.
5Joint Grievance Panel
Functions
To examine and make recommendations on
formal Complaints of harassment when informal
resolution is not appropriate or has been
unsuccessful.
6Joint Disciplinary Committee
Functions
To advise the Secretary-General, in disciplinary
cases referred to the JDC, what disciplinary
measures, if any, should be taken.
To defend the interest of the staff member
concerned while ensuring that due process is
achieved and justice is done.
7Staff Pension Committee
Functions
To ensure the participation of WMO in the
activities of the UN Joint Staff Pension Board,
including the administration of the Fund.
To represent and defend the interests of the
participants and to keep them informed.
8Staff Committee
Functions
To ensure continous contact between the staff and
the Secretary-General.
To manage consultations with the SG on questions
relating to staff welfare and adminsitration,
including policy on appointments, promotions and
terminations, on salaties and related allowances
and on the work place.
To propose SA representatives for appointment by
the SG to staff selection boards and various task
forces/ad-hoc groups established by him.
9Staff Committee
Functions
To make proposals to the SG on behalf of the
staff on the above and other matters.
To safeguard the rights and defend the insterests
of all staff members and promote their welfare.
To collaborate in developing amongst staff
members a spirit of solidarity and understanding
and ensure contact with retired members of the
Association.
To maintain relations and cooperation with the
SA/Unions of the Organizations of the UN system
and other relevant international organizations.
