Iranian Serial Killer Lashed And Hanged In Public

• Iranian serial killer Mohammad Bijeh, dubbed "the
  vampire of the desert," was publicly flogged and
  hanged south of Tehran on Wednesday before a
  crowd of thousands. Bijeh was convicted of
  kidnapping and murdering 21 people, most of them
  children. The 22 year old murderer remained calm
  throughout the event despite the raucous crowd
  that was cheering "make him twist" as a crane
  raised him in the air. Bijah was arrested in
  September of 2004 and sentenced in November of
  the same year in a trial that gained much
  attention in the Iranian press.

Nguyen Van Troi - Execution of a Viet Cong War
Terrorist December 16, 2005

• On October 18, 1964, a South Vietnamese
  government firing squad executed Viet Cong
  terrorist Nguyen Van Troi after convicting him of
  a May 1963 unsuccessful attempt to assassinate
  U.S. Defense Secretary Robert McNamara and
  Ambassador Henry Cabot Lodge.

WWII Nazi Anton Dostler Executed by Firing Squad
November 17, 2005

• Aton Dostler (May 10, 1891 - December 1, 1945)
  was a General of infantry in the regular German
  army during World War II (see Germany and Nazi
  party). In the first allied war trial after the
  war, Dostler was tried and found guilty of war
  crimes and sentenced to death by firing squad. In
  the trial, Dostler was accused of carrying out an
  illegal order, while Dostler maintained that he
  did not issue the order, but only passed along an
  order to General Almers from supreme command.

• This video shows a man (who is suspected of being
  responsible for a bombing) getting shot in the
  head on the streets in Palestine. Further details
  are still unknown.

Gay Teens Hanged in IranJuly 23, 2005

• Two teenagers have been executed after a
  religious court found them guilty of
  homosexuality.
• The Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) reports
  that the executions took place on July 19 in the
  northeastern city of Mashhad.
• ISNA says one of the teens was aged 18, the other
  was a minor, believed to be aged 16 or 17.

• This bosnian execution video was presented on
  Slobodan Milosevic's trial as a proof of his
  active role in the Srebrenica / Serbia massacre.
  The military formation performing the massacre
  are the 'Scorpions', reserve troops who came from
  Serbia to perform the killing of 8.000 men and
  boys.

Man Beheaded by Iranian Mujahedeen May 13, 2006

• A video was posted on the internet today showing
  the beheading of a man by a group calling
  themselves Jundullah (Soldiers of God). This
  execution may be related to the group's claim
  that they had kidnapped seven members of the
  Iranian army in March. They had threatened to
  kill the hostages unless the Iranian government
  released five of their members. In another
  portion of this video, seven men were shown being
  held at gun point.

Israel bombs targets and moves forces into Gaza
June 28, 2006

• Israeli forces launched air strikes Wednesday,
  targeting three bridges and a power station in
  the southern Gaza Strip. Following the attacks,
  Israel sent tanks and troops into Gaza in a bid
  to rescue Cpl. Gilad Shalit, kidnapped by
  Palestinian militants. A spokesperson for the
  Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said infantry and
  armored units moved into southern Gaza at about
  230 a.m. Israeli time shortly after the air
  strikes. In an official statement, the IDF said
  the attack on the three bridges was aimed at
  preventing the kidnappers from fleeing with their
  hostage.

• A media branch of the Taliban and Al-Qaeda in
  Pakistan have released a 30-minute video, part of
  which shows the aftermath of an attack on
  Pakistani military forces. The first half of the
  video is comprised of footage of American
  President George Bush and Pakistani President
  General Pervez Musharraf, along with video of the
  Pakistani army. In the latter half of the video,
  an attack on Pakistani forces by the Taliban in
  the western province of Waziristan is shown. The
  attack appears to have occurred Apr 1, 2006
  according to the date stamp on the video. In the
  aftermath, numerous Pakistani military fatalities
  are shown.

Channel News Crew Caught In Afghan Crossfire
March 02, 2006

• While filming a burning school, a reporter and
  producer from the United Kingdom's Channel 4 News
  are caught in the crossfire of Taliban remnants
  and Afghan forces. The Afghan forces rush the
  scene and corner the news crew. The two attempt,
  to no avail, to tell the Afghan forces that
  they're not with the Taliban. After a short
  firefight one of the Taliban fighters is
  captured.
