Cultivated by Indentured servants? 4 to 7 years
of servitude in exchange for passage to New
World. Later used slaves POWHATAN initially
helped colonists but later began
raiding/attacking colonists due to cultural
conflicts(settlers wouldnt have survived the
first winter without the help of the Native
Americans)
