  • August 19, 1812- The USS Constitution earns its
    nickname Old Ironsides during a naval battle
    during the War of 1812.
  • August 19, 1934- Adolf Hitler becomes president
    of Germany.
  • August 19, 1946- Bill Clinton was born in Hope,
    Arkansas as William Jefferson Blythe III. His
    father died in a car accident before he was born
    so he took the last name of his stepfather, Roger
    Clinton.
