Title:
1Suspect Dead, Two Police Officers Injured In
Chase At U.S. Capitol
2At 2pm on Thursday, a 34 year old woman, name
Miriam Carey, tried to ram a security barrier
outside the White House and then led the Secret
Service and U.S. Capitol Police on a high-speed
chase that ended near Capitol Hill, where
gunshots were fired by police. The incident left
the suspect dead and two police officers injured.
The event appears to be an isolated incident, not
linked to terrorism, according to Capitol Police.
However, after all the chaos and gunfire, the
question remains Why did a woman with a young
child try to drive into a blocked entrance near
the White House? Investigators searched for clues
at the woman's Stamford, Connecticut, home, but
gave little official word on what was found.
