3 Broad Rhetorical Styles

• Ethos is appeal based on the character and
  credibility of the speaker (E.g. vote for me
  because Im from Ox-bridge)
• Logos is appeal based on logic or reason (E.g.
  vote for me because my policies are sound)
• Pathos is appeal based on emotion (E.g. vote for
  me because you want the best for your family)

INSTRUCTIONS

• Task A (slides 5-7)
• Scour the net for an example of EACH rhetorical
  style (ethos, logos and pathos) by any
  party/speaker and edit slides 5 to 7
• The rhetorical style can be either persuasive
  (i.e. vote for me) or dissuasive (i.e. dont vote
  for the enemy)
• Task B (slide 8)
• Which rhetorical style is most persuasive to
  your group? Why?
• What style is most important for a leader? Why?
• Task C Send PowerPoint to derekfcw_at_hotmail.com
  or pass it to me by thumb-drive. Get ready to
  present.
