Title: The Very Hungry Caterpillar
1The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Adapted from Eric Carle
2In the light of the moon, a little egg lay on a
leaf.
3One Sunday morning the warm sun came up and POP
out of the egg came a tiny and very hungry
caterpillar.
4He started to look for some food.
5On Monday, he ate through one apple, but he was
still hungry.
6On Tuesday, he ate though two pears, but he was
still hungry.
7On Wednesday, he ate through three plums, but he
was still hungry.
8On Thursday, he ate through four strawberries,
but he was still hungry.
9On Friday, he ate through five oranges, but he
was still hungry.
10On Saturday, he ate though one piece of chocolate
cake,
11one ice cream cone,
12one pickle,
13one slice of Swiss cheese,
14one slice of salami,
15one lollipop,
16one piece of cherry pie,
17one sausage,
18one cupcake,
19and one slice of watermelon.
20The next day was Sunday again. The caterpillar
ate through one nice green leaf, and after that
he felt much better.
21Now he wasn't hungry anymore and he wasn't a
little caterpillar anymore.
22He was a big, fat caterpillar.
23He built a house, called a cocoon around himself.
He stayed inside for two weeks.
24Then he nibbled a hole in the cocoon, pushed his
way out and.....
25he was a beautiful butterfly!
