Introduction
  • We are going to learn about life cycle.
  • We will be raising our own butterflies.
  • We will learn about the parts of a butterfly,
    stages of its life and the importance of each
    stage.
  • We will discover about life cycles in all living
    things.
  • We will observer our classroom butterfly and
    watch as it changes

Who am I?
  • A butterfly is an insect .
  • An insect has 5 essential body parts
  • All insects have a head, thorax, abdomen, 2
    antennae, and 6 legs.
  • Moths and butterflies have 4wings covered in
    scales, and a coiled proboscis for drinking
    liquid like nectar.

A Butterflies Life Cycle
  • Adult butterflies lay eggs on leaves.
  • The egg hatches into a caterpillar.
  • The caterpillar spends many days eating and
    growing
  • The caterpillar then finds a branch, hangs upside
    down, and spins, forming their chrysalis.
  • After many days, the caterpillar will break
    through their chrysalis, spread their wings and b
    a butterfly.

  • Activities for Your Portfolio

Student Activities for Portfolio
  • Create at least two activities each multiple
    intelligence on the planning matrix. Make sure
    to represent each range of Blooms Taxonomy.
  • You will choose 2 of these activities to be
    compulsory, or required for all.
  • You will use the planning matrix to create a
    learning contract.
  • You will assign points for the activities based
    on the various levels of Blooms taxonomy.
  • You will determine the total minimum number of
    points which must be earned.
  • You will determine any additional requirements
    the students must meet as they make their
    selections.
