Does your patient have Respiratory Failure?
Some cases of respiratory failure require
mechanical ventilatory support. However,
respiratory failure can also be managed without
the use of mechanical ventilation the absence
of mechanical ventilation DOES NOT preclude a
diagnosis of respiratory failure.
For accurate coding purposes, please also clarify
if the respiratory failure is--- acute, chronic,
or acute on chronic.
