- They do not recognize when they are dangerously
thin. - While looking in a mirror, they see themselves as

and are good students. - They often set high expectations of themselves

anorexic teen and his or her family.

- Bulimia is an eating disorder characterized by
binge eating (uncontrollable over eating) then
they purge there self by taking laxatives or
vomiting. - Bulimia is related to deep psychological issues
and feelings of lack of control. Sufferers often
use the destructive eating pattern to feel in
control over their lives. They may hide their
emotions and overeat when stressed or upset. Body
weight is usually normal, although the person may
think that they are overweight. If bulimia is
accompanied by anorexia, body weight may be
extremely low.

- Anyone can get bulimia
- Bulimia can start at any age, although it
normally occurs during late teens. It's thought
that during their lifetime about eight out of 100
women will be affected by bulimia. - More women have bulimia than men. The condition
is believed to be two to three times more common
than anorexia.

cure bulimia all that can be done is to build up
a healthy diet. - Antidepressant drugs may be used to help.

cannot control eating and eats excessive amounts. - Teens with eating disorder need medical and
psychological. - Binge eating disorder is more common in people
who are severely obese. - Their attempts at weight loss are never

- There can be an increase of the heart rate and
blood pressure. - It can cause the risk of cardiovascular disease,
high blood pressure, diabetes, and some types of
cancer. - Teens with binge eating disorder may lack
self-respect, negative self-esteem and depression.
