The Nature of Emancipation

• Emancipation is taken as a basic human need for
  autonomy, responsibility and justice. (p.226)
• It can liberate humans from dogmatisms with
  critical self-understanding.
• Dissolve instrumental constraints and points
  towards an ideal space of free communication.
• Represent a direct challenge to a totally
  impersonal value-free system of objectivity,
  particularly, modern positivism.

The Main points of Communicative Action

• Refer to intersubjective action.
• It is the domain of the historical-hermeneutic
  science.
• Concern with the symbolic interaction.
• Marx recognized a distinction between technical
  and practical interests, but ignored the varies
  of human interests, desires and values.
• Focus on critical self-reflection and the
  emancipation from ideologies.
• Represent a democratic system of communication.
• Dismantle the barriers which prohibit symmetrical
  communicative exchange.
• Deploy the repressive strategies of power,
  authority, censorship, and violence.

• Unmask the rapport between action authority,
  praxis power, the forces the relations of
  production.
• Disclosing the subjects quest for
  self-understanding involved in meta-hermeneutics
  or deep-hermeneutic, through a process of
  desymbolisation and resymbolisaiton.
• Communicative competence is intrinsically
  deformed by the hidden interests of domination of
  power.
