Times have changedthe needs in our community
have not!

• Over 100,000 hurricane evacuees were absorbed
  into the Houston community in 2005 as a result of
  Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. They were given
  food, shelter, clothing and hope!
• Almost 30 of homeless individuals are veterans
• Every 11 minutes, a child is reported abused or
  neglected
• 1 in 4 Houston students does not graduate from
  high school
• 1 in 5 children in Harris County live in poverty
• 1/3 of adults function at the lowest level of
  literacy
• 30 of people 65 and older have 3 chronic
  illnesses
• 1 million people in our community have no health
  insurance

  month childcare to low-income families
• 85 Dinner and a movie for 200 seniors
  can have a nutritious two each
  month meal and social interaction at a
  senior center
