- At the heart of the IANIS work programme is the
development of a dynamic and interactive portal -
the eRegion Hub. - The First Release was launched this week but
subsequent releases will comprise a wide range of
features and information, employing a knowledge

8- eris_at_ has its origins in the Inter-Regional
Information Society Initiative (IRISI, 6 regions,
1994) and the Regional Information Society
Initiative (RISI, 22 regions, 1996). - These 28 regions, with the support of the
European Commission, established eris_at_ under
Belgian Law in 1998 as an international
not-for-profit association. - Today, eris_at_ has 45 member regions which have a
combined population in excess of 150 million
people. It also has 3 corporate members. - eris_at_ membership is open to all EU regions and to
regions in the NAS. - eris_at_ is based in Brussels.

eris_at_ is engaged in a number of activities at the
European, national and regional levels
- THEMIS The THEMatic evaluation of the
Information Society in the Structural Funds,
2000-06, for DG Regio. - AEGIS Analysis and Evaluation of Greek regional
Information Society business plans for the Greek
National Ministry for the Economy. - PRELUDE Key partner in this 5th Framework (FP5)
project preparing the ground to support the local
and regional dimension in the FP6 (IST). - 3 ROSES Collaboration with two other important
European networks, ELANET Tele-Cities, working
on road map for OSS for local regional
government applications. - TerreGOV COCOON FP6 projects on eGovernment
and eHealth at the local and regional level.
